I don't know about you, but so often we as individuals pay very little attention to others, and are very self absorbed. One of the skills I have learned over the years by reading the Bible and studying ways that Jesus interacted is to listen and form questions. A lot of time I see people trying to answer the question even before I am done speaking, either wanting to get there opinion across or saying something they think I want to hear. This takes away their ability to think deeply about what might be affecting them. Through this process we can get our mind off of me and on to the other person. One of the most powerful questions Jesus asked was of Peter. "Who do you say that I am?" Luke 9:20 Jesus wanted to know if what He was saying and doing was getting through to Peter. Jesus needed to know whether or not His way of living and serving was working. If it was not He would need to hear from God and change. John tells of a conversation between Jesus and God where Jesus tells God that He has not let anyone go, that God gave Him to look after. (John 17) Over the next 25 days ask questions and listen carefully to the answers. The answer will likely tell you how effective you really are living and sharing with others. The more we turn ourselves over to God, the more He desires to transform our life for His purpose. May you PRAY, LISTEN, SERVE, and SHARE, the reason Jesus brought hope into the world. You are prayed for.
